The Pink Candle Light Event in Kathmandu, organized by Nepal Cancer Hospital & Research Center and Hard Rock Cafe, with support from the Nepal Cancer Support Group (NCSG) and Upachar ko Lagi Sahayogi Haatharu, recently took place. Held on 13th Kartik 2081, starting at 4:00 PM at Sherpa Mall, Durbar Marg, the event involved the participation of breast cancer patients, survivors, doctors, supporters, and local community members. The gathering emphasized the importance of early detection and regular health checkups while honoring cancer survivors.
Senior oncologists from Nepal Cancer Hospital shared insights on the critical role of early diagnosis and treatment in the fight against cancer. Messages of hope resonated as participants, lighting candles in solidarity, promising ongoing support and imagining a future where breast cancer no longer claims lives too soon.
Mrs. Sworupa Shrestha, Director of Nepal Cancer Hospital and Research Center, President of Upachar ko Lagi Sahayogi Haatharu and Vice President of the Nepal Cancer Support Group, conveyed a powerful message, expressing that 'We are moving forward, leaving cancer behind, and are united in our determination to beat it.'
